F.A.Q.
Q; Is salt harmful to nature?
A; All substances in nature will be
dangerous if used in the wrong
proportions. Without salt life
cannot exist, but too much salt
extinguishes life as well. The
Greenhill King dispenses only
a teaspoon of salt per application.
Q; Does salt kill the grass as well?
A; The dandelion plant has a bowl
shaped base which keeps the salt in
the middle of the plant. Beneath the
dandelion there is no grass, but
once the plant begins to wither,
then the sun and grass combine
forces to quickly replace the space
left by the dead weed. After one or
two grass cuttings there is no trace
of the dead weeds.
Q; How does the salt kill the weeds?
A; The weeds are killed through
reverse osmosis. The high salt
content causes the weed’s cellular
structure to break down and the weed
starves to death.
Q; Is there any risk of over
salting?
A; No, over salting is a problem
caused by intense irrigation on
large-scale farms, not by the
teaspoon amounts of salt
applications used in Greenhill King.
Q; What happens to the salt?
A; The weed’s root consumes the
salt, and in the process of the
weed’s decay the salt (Sodium
Chloride) will split into its base
elements of sodium and chloride.
Q; What about the chloride?
A; Chloride will quickly evaporate
from the soil.
Q; What if my lawn consists mostly
of dandelions?
A; Apply salt to every second or
third weed in a square pattern.
After a week, make a new square
pattern. It is quite rewarding to
follow the development from a
dandelion infested patch
into a grass covered lawn.
Q; Where do I get the salt?
A; Coarse sea salt can be obtained
at most grocery stores. Ordinary
table salt will also work, but its
finer diameter gives an
unnecessarily large dose per
application.
Q; Can I use road-salt?
A; Salt used to de-ice roads and
sidewalks is not a clean product.
Feed your lawn the same clean
compound that you cook with.
Q; Can I use Greenhill King on any
weeds?
A; You can use this method for all
weeds with a central root system.
Greenhill King has not yet been
tested on weeds with tendril roots
or runners.
Q; Can I use other compounds besides
salt?
A; Ordinary granular fertilizers do
the same job, but salt is cheaper
and easy to find in small packages.
Q; Is Greenhill King a new idea?
A; The tool is new but the method is
tried and true. Before
refrigeration, meat and fish were
salted down for preservation. It was
then that salt’s use as a natural
weed killer was discovered.
Q; Is salt common in nature?
A; Salt exists on Earth in
unimaginable quantities. If we
extracted all of the oceans’ salt
content, it would cover all of the
Earth’s dry land with a 1,800 foot
layer of salt
Q; When is the best time for
application?
A; From spring to autumn. If you
apply during early spring, you will
prevent the weed’s seed dispersal
for the season. If you apply during
the early fall, you will prevent
seed dispersal for the next season.
Q; How do I use Greenhill King?
A; Aim straight down and press
firmly. You will quickly develop the
talent to make 500 applications per
hour!
